Just thought I would share my news..............

I'm resigning in the am ! ohmy.gif I'm shitting my pants a bit but it's got to be done. The thread title is a joke because I actually like the job - I've been doing it for 10 years so I must !

But, the time has come to move on. i'm going back to Uni part time and working on site the rest of the time. I'm excited but it's a big step so...................... wish me luck !

well go on then..... huh.gif

I'm waiting............................ biggrin.gif

To consider Tom to be as knowledgeable as Jumkie, Rog or Pete is to overate him. His comedy value and ability to talk about being an engineer can be compared (and is argueably superior) to Pinky, but he would have achieved considerably less without Google.

Jerry Burgess: "Valentino moved through the field in Barcelona and everyone that he passed got a riding lesson."

"I think that if Casey had raced in the '80s and '90s with Kevin Schwantz, Wayne Rainey and Mick Doohan, he'd have seen that every weekend," the Australian told the official MotoGP website. "It was probably something that he wasn't particularly expecting; [he] probably expected to win the race easily like he'd dominated in the practices."

"Pedrosa put up so little a fight it would have embarrassed a Frenchman"

That's a very bold decision bald, in view of the sprogs.

I went to Uni as a 'mature student' at 27 when my daughter was 18 months old, it was hard financially, but I got the first that I was after, (although it might as well be written on toilet paper in view of what I do now).

It's good that you are off to study something of practical and vocational use. If the consistent quality of your posts are anything to go by then you're obviously not lacking in the old cerebal region. I'm sure you'll piss it.

"Stand on it until you can see God, then gently tap the brakes" - H.S.T

"On a 500 you've got no engine braking. I only slide the front tyre when I get into a turn too hot, but this is how it goes: flick it in, pick up the feel of the tyre as it start moving. Then you lay it over a little bit more, the front slides and scrubs off speed. Saving a front slide is the tricky part. I use everything: the rear brake, my knee and a lot of upper body" Wayne Rainey 1991

at 35 i suddenly feel very old but - you've gotta take these chances as they come along. I've made a good living out of Sales but I just dont like it and I don't want to spend the next 30 years doing something I don't like.

cheers for the good wishes tho smile.gif

Baldylocks, remember 1 very important thing.

even if this doesn't turn out to be what you expected, the thing is you've tried, far better to try and fail then never try at all!

If you don't do this now you'll spend the rest of your life thinking what if.....

Once again, good luck!

Baldylox - Good Luck!

Remember the title of Rossi's autobiography - "What if I had never tried it...."

My bother-in-law went to Uni at 26 with no A levels and few O levels having been a brickie, a welder and a truckie. He graduated in Computing in 1997 and now, at 40, is enjoying living and contracting in Brisbane, Australia, earning decent cash and taking his hols in Thailand (he is single, so why the hell not!). biggrin.gif

As Arrabbiata says, you hardly seem short of brain cells, so hopefully the world'll be your oyster in a few years. Especially given your choice of subject. smile.gif
