I'll probably be there...
Is there any reason you're asking this other than curiosity?
Maybe we can help answering questions you might have about it... wink.gif

Actually yes, What airport should I fly into and what would be the best way to get from the airport to the track?

think it's best if you just fly to Schiphol (amsterdam) and go to the central station there to take the train to assen. From assen central station there are busses to take you to the track. Ask Ben how that went, cause I've never ussed that. I don't think there is an airport closer to assen or an easier way to get to assen (like flying to the airport in Eindhoven or to Weeze (dusseldorf)), but I'll look into it smile.gif

I assume you're not planning to fly in on race day, right?

Hehe, I guess Marijke is the best person to answer all your questions because I travel by car and I don't know anything about travelling by plane and stuff... sad.gif

I will most likely go to Assen.
Like Marijke said, it's best to go to Schiphol and take a train to Assen.

"One particular thing that Formula-1 can provide you, is that you know you're always exposed to danger. Danger of getting hurt, danger of dying. This is part of your life, and you either face it in a professional, in a cool manner, or you just drop it, just leave it and don't do it anymore really. And I happen to like too much what I do to just drop it, I can't drop it." (Ayrton Senna)

ASSEN GP

right, here is some general information for all of you who might be interested smile.gif some might have seen it before, I'm copy and pasting most of it from other topics I replied in laugh.gif smart huh tongue.gif

there's a trainstation in assen. your train takes 2h and 7 min to get from amsterdam to assen, you'll must change trains in hilversum (otherwise you'll end up like ben and matt running after all the other people in motogp-stuff wink.gif ) If you remind me on time, I'll look up the times+railway you'll need in hilversum, makes your trip much more relaxed. a normal train ticket to assen is €37,40 (return) ( 25,10 pounds) , €24,70( 16,60 pounds) for a single ticket.

camping: get a cab and tell them to take you to the closest camping to the track. you can go there on wednesday night, cliff they open up on wednesday for those who don't want to miss a thing. the closest camping I think is Jan&Berta. it's near the main road and it's just a field full of tents/german people. the campings are very primitive and in the open pastures, but most do have a toilet for the ladies. they cost about €10,-p.n. I think, there not expensive. you do can get a 'normal' camping, but that's further from the circuit. don't expect to get a good night sleep...
what you also can do is to take a bus/cab to the village Witten. it's very close to assen, so it can't cost you that much money. when you get there, you'll see that the whole place is just a camping, also in the pastures of a farmer (also very primitive) so you have lots of places to set up your tents! on a personal note: DON'T GO TO WITTERZOMER, they suck cause they want to bann the motogp cause they are to loud dry.gif bunch of assholes, they open up their campings for the bikers and make money of us, but at the same time they want to boycot the TT mad.gif
I am sure there are arrangments if you camp on those fields to get to the city and back to the camping during the night, if you decide to go to Assen during the evenings. there will be a 3 day festival in the city too, like last year. last year was great, lot's of live-music. saw Ilse de Lange (you don't know her, but she's a good peformer) and had a good time.

here is a link if you want to contact a camping. http://www.internetgemeentegids.nl/asp/edi...mp;doc_id=28048 our country number is 0031 smile.gif telefoon means telephone and contactpersoon=contact-person. who says dutch is difficult?! rolleyes.gif

ow and bring an umbrella will you, big chance it might rain blink.gif

ASSEN GP

most important stuff: the entree-prices!

passepartout ticket for thursday till saturday: €70 (no tribune cards for race day tho) (£70)
passepartout ticket for thursday and friday: maybe around €40,-(£27)? last year it was 40,- and since it gets more expensive every year so don't be surprised if you've to pay 45...

entree thursday: €20,- (£14)
entree friday: €23,- (£15)

raceday:
normal entree tickets, no tribunes: €40,- (£27)
Stekkenwal tribune: €54,- (<- great place imo) (£36)
Bult tribune: €54,- (£36)
Haarbocht tribune: € 57,- (£38)
Ossebroeken tribune: €59,-(£39/£40)
TT-World tribune : €60,-(£40)
Winterdijk tribune: €69,- (<- can't recommend that one) (£46)

you can order the tickets through www.tt-assen.com. we always do that, it never went wrong. here is a phonenumber for you all 0900-3882488, for information and tickets. it'll be 0031900-3882488 for you foreign people smile.gif

if there is something I'm forgetting now, ask it ok biggrin.gif
