I haven't found any AMA on Motor's TV or Sky Sports yet this year and after watching it for the last couple of years, albeit recorded footage, I'm quite annoyed by this. Is it being televised at all in the UK this year?

It's on Motors TV, but the schedule is fucked and I can never find it.

Thanks!

Sky Sports referred to it as "US Superbikes" and Motor's TV as "AMA Superbike," but I've yet to see either in the A-Z of all programmes this year. I'll just keep looking.

The trend last year was to show it on the Monday after race weekend or in most cases I noticed it was about a week later.

The best thing to do is just check when you can, I've yet to see a 'stable' running schedule for it.

It really feels like it's an afterthought on MotorsTV, which is a shame.

Thank you! It actually had a series link option too, so that has been selected.

AMA Superbike coverage is absolutly awful over here which is a big shame as I much prefer it to BSB.

Since we are on this topic, I will ask the reverse question: I am in the USA and I would like to watch the BSB races (seeing how I think it is a better series...I mean, there are more than only TWO riders winning races, right??). Someone has mentioned BitTorrent, but that is a bit beyond my computer skills.....any help ???

If I was you I'd leave it, BSB is a joke this season and you'll realise it when you see it.

I believe the site Racing Underground has 'torrents' of BSB races. I think it's a case of clicking on the file and downloading.

The racing has been close, I don't see what your problem is?

I'm gonna have a guess that you aren't a Shakey Byrne fan. rolleyes.gif

To consider Kevin Schwantz an equal rider to Rainey, Doohan and Lawson is to overrate him. His entertainment value, popularity and legendary status can be compared (and is arguably superior) to those he rode against, but he achieved significantly less on the track.

I'm not a big fan of Shakey as he only races for money.

But I am so dissapointed with BSB this seasion because firstly, they have let a machine with 200cc more that is built by Ducati Corse in Bologna into a championship against small British teams who all build there bikes at their respected bases (Even HM Plant build theirs in Louth now as Kiyo has gone to WSB). Secondly the lack of quality riders, I knew that when Kiyo, Rea and Lavilla left it was going to leave a big gap where the big talent was but with Shakey only dropping 5 points so far I thought it was going to be a little more competitive than it has been.

And any championship with a piece of crap like Leon Haslem in is always going to be poor.

Well i can appreciate your disaproval of the Ducati situation. Although i now agree that it was appropriate to change the superbike rules to allow 1200cc twins to race, i don't agree with their special treatment in the BSB regs. The 4 cylinder bikes all have to run stock pistons to reduce speeds and costs, making superbike racing more stock (a good thing in my view). Ducati have not homologated a 1200cc Ducati so should in theory have had to run their 1098 pistons with 3 rings, but argued that they could not do this for safetey/reliability reasons, and get to race WSBK spec engine parts. I think thats wrong, but i don't really mind since the bikes don't seem to have a big advantage, and its still costing ducati more money than the other teams (which is ironic). I think we are better off to have them stay in the championship like this than to leave.

As for the riding quality, i have to disagree with you completely. for a start you show little regard for Leon Haslams skills despite the fact that he out scored Lavilla in the past two seasons in the same team. So the rider quality hasn't decreseased significantly, especially as new talent and young riders come forward and take up the status of the more experienced guys. Sykes was regularly on the podium last year, and Camier and Crutchlow are coming good now. Although there will be slight fluctuations from year to year in any series, i don't think the quality of BSb has changed significantly for 2008. I think its easy to feel like it has, especially if a rider as successful as kiyo leaves. But don't underestimate Shakey, hes riding rematkably well this season and we've seen hes capable of this in the past.
