Just a few questions for anyone who knows:

Is the WSB round being run alongside the AMA weekend there?

Are both tracks using the same layout?

Is the track good for racing? I caught some of the AMA races there last year and it was pretty damn good (compared to usual standards).

Are any members going? tongue.gif

Just a few questions for anyone who knows:

I'm going. (I've invited Curve, but I doubt he will show, all talk).

You can see what the layout is if you go directly to WSBK site. If you go to Miller
Sports Park site, they will show you the entire track with its potential configurations but NOT the layout that they will use for WSBK/AMA.

Yes, both series will have their weekend side by side. Saturday will have AMA Superstock & Formula Extreme 600s with WSBK practice and quals. Sunday will have AMA Superbike (one race only) and Supersport, WSBK will have both races.

Thanks for replying, even though we're currently going through a rough patch. tongue.gif

Be interesting to see the lap times, and if any wildcards will happen (very unlikely).

I have heard that the AMA ans WSBK will use different track layouts because of the belief that a Suzuki AMA bike would trounce the WSBK lap times.

I thought AMA bikes ran much closer to stock regulations than WSB bikes? I'm thinking that due to the fact Ducati were so uncompetitive.

Or are the Dunlops Yoshi run THAT good?

^^^ I am going to correct a common misconception about Ducati being uncompetitive. Ducati were not uncompetitive, Neil hodgson and Ben Bostrom were uncompetitive. I will bet my left testicle that if you put Troy Bayliss on the same bike at the same time he would have been fighting for the championship. cool.gif

I thought hodgeman did alright and got a few podiums. Regardless, do you know how the technical regs compare to the world champs?

To consider Kevin Schwantz an equal rider to Rainey, Doohan and Lawson is to overrate him. His entertainment value, popularity and legendary status can be compared (and is arguably superior) to those he rode against, but he achieved significantly less on the track.

Hey Frost, where did you get this info? According to WSBK site, they are running the 4.5 mile track. I can not find what configuration the AMA is running on their shitty site. I'm assuming they are both running the same. Let me know what you know.

(BTW, I PMed you same question.)

I passed on the chance of Miller instead I'll be going on a dirt bike trip in Moab Utah with my dad and old riding buddies tongue.gif

I know I'll be kicking myself, but I'd rather be riding a bike than watching right now. Cabin fever laugh.gif

On 22 August, 2007, Miller Motorsports Park announced a three-year deal to bring the FIM Superbike World Championship to the track; the Superbike World Championship will race at the track for the first time on 1 June 2008 with the AMA Superbike Championship. To avoid direct comparisons between World Superbike and AMA Superbike, and because of sponsorship issues, the two championships will race on different configurations of the circuit. World Superbike will use the Outer course, while AMA Superbike and its support classes will use the Full course.[2]

I will be there, driving down from Boise. I have never been to Miller so I'm a bit worried about a track out in the desert (scrubland) being good, but everyone says Miller is a great place. I'm looking forward to the races. Let me know if you guys are guys want to have a meet up, maybe grab a beer at one of the tents or something at a certain time?

Give me one race at post season. Everyone gets the same bike, tires, electronics, etc. Let them race it out so we can finally put to rest who is the best "rider".
