Who are these new people? I don't recognise their voices.

I guess Burnicle and Whitham are now on BSB duty?

I assumed the same, these new guys are crap! I'm glad burnicle prioritised BSB, that will make me happy.

To consider Kevin Schwantz an equal rider to Rainey, Doohan and Lawson is to overrate him. His entertainment value, popularity and legendary status can be compared (and is arguably superior) to those he rode against, but he achieved significantly less on the track.

I was amused by the Australian ones insistance throughout that Bayliss was controlling everything and would win. laugh.gif

worst commentary of a race i think i ever heard. warwick nowland is a clever guy but isn't a geat commentator. his mate, clive mcneill i think he was called, is a complete tube. it was like a commentary from the 1960's, he was trying to hype up something he very clearly knew nothing at all about. i'm surprised at eurosport allowing this guy on. he was mixing up the names of riders all through the race. some of his theories and analysis of what was going on was way off mark. when checa had the electrical problem he reckonnned it was a slow puncture. i burst out laughing at that one but what was just as priceless was steve parrish in the studio, another tosser, who wisely diagnosed checa's problem as "a bit of oil on his tyre". . where the fuck do they get these guys????

I don't know whether the (overseas)commentators we got for the telecast here were australian or not, but they weren't very good. I feel no imperative to defend australian commentators, and I suspect the presence of any such commentators on eurosports is unrelated to their australian-ness; as far as I am aware we have not made the promotion of motorbike racing sports commentary a national imperative. The favourite commentators for F1, motor-bike racing and even cycling in australia are all british. Kevin magee is not bad on post-race commentary here; he obviously has a reasonable perspective and doesn't take himself too seriously.

As far as bayliss is concerned, he and ducati didn't really look on this weekend, but a conspiracy theorist might posit that it was not in his interests to take any risks to win, given both his points lead and the 1000cc vs 1198cc controversy.

I wouldnt fall for any of that, he just wasnt quick enough today. Apparently the rules wont be changed now because their is enough parity between the bikes. Still its gonna be easy for Troy if all the other riders keep riding like they do, the overall quality of riding has been relatively poor so far this year.

Sure haga was better in the second race (I was out and didn't see the first). However Bayliss would have been crazy to ride like he did in the race he won in qatar given the points position.

Exactly. What has he got against gazpacho?
I agree this is one of the most peurile attempts at colour I have ever heard. What is worse, I think it may have been pre-meditated.

Take a look on the BSB forums. Clive McNeil came on and started to defend himself on page 2. Add your criticisms there - it might do some good.
